Refractive Error

The refraction of our eye is performed by the cornea and the retina. When the light enters the eyes, the rays are focused on the retina by the cornea and the lens and that form an image that is transmitted to the brain. And refractive error is a normal eye condition in which you are unable to focus on the light that leads to blurred vision.

Types of refractive errors

• Myopia (nearsightedness):- In myopia, you have difficulty in seeing the objects kept far.
• Hyperopia (farsightedness); - In hyperopia, you have difficulty in seeing the objects kept close.
• Astigmatism (blurred vision in all directions):- In astigmatism, your eye vision is blurred in all directions.
• Presbiopia (age related farsightedness):- In presbiopia, you have difficulty in near vision.
