The best first-round card in French Open history has been created. The ATP called it a blockbuster, and world No. 1 Novak Djokovic (Serbia) said it would be "an exciting showtime for fans."

The second Grand Slam Roland Garros of the season, which kicks off on May 26, will feature 14-time career champion Rafael Nadal (Spain) and 22-time tour winner Alexander Zverev (Germany) in the first round of men's singles.

The all-time series between the two players is 7-3 in favor of Rafael Nadal, and this will be their second meeting at Roland Garros. On clay, they have met six times, with Nadal leading 5-1.

However, the historical record doesn't really matter. Nadal's current form and condition will determine whether he wins 바카라사이트 순위 or loses. For Nadal, who is retiring at the end of the season, this will be his last appearance at Roland Garros, which is a one-two punch for fans who want to see him play.

Nadal, who returned to action for the first time in nearly three months at the Barcelona Open in April, enters the tournament ranked No. 9 in the Protected Rankings (a bailout that allows players to enter the field at their pre-injury ranking).

However, the draw reflects his current world ranking, so he could have faced a top player in the first round, but no one would have expected him to face Zverev, one of the favorites to win the title.

After this matchup was decided, all fans will remember the last time the two met, in the semifinals of the 2022 French Open. In that 바카라사이트 match, the two players were playing intensely and without concessions from the start, until Zverev suffered a major injury to his right ankle at the end of the second set and had to retire midway through. The image of Zverev returning to the court after a medical timeout, walking on crutches, and telling the umpire he was done is still fresh in his mind.

It's not just the players who are looking forward to Nadal and Zverev's first big card in almost two years. Novak Djokovic, a quarterfinalist at the ongoing Geneva Open, said in a post-quarterfinal press conference, "It's going to be showtime in France and I'm looking forward to watching the match. I think there's a chance we'll be in the night session (on Center Court). I think Rafa would prefer not to play at night because of the condition of the court...but Zverev is in top form right now, so it will be a very interesting match. But it's 'Roland Garros = Rafa', so we'll see..." he concluded.

With Nadal, the symbol of Roland Garros, and Zverev, who is looking to win his first Grand Slam title, whose hand will be raised by the gods. Fans were treated to a first round match that was as good as the final.
