Chelsea FC are keen on SSC Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. It seems that Osimhen also wants to move to Chelsea.

According to Italian soccer journalist Rudi Galletti, "Chelsea are willing to meet Osimhen's buyout clause and a personal agreement would not be a problem. It is necessary to discuss with Napoli whether the payment period will be a lump sum or in installments."

Chelsea have been linked with Osimhen since last summer's transfer window. The Blues are currently in 11th place in the English Premier League (EPL) with 39 points from 11 wins, 6 draws, and 10 losses this season. Their offensive stats aren't bad. They've scored a whopping 47 goals in 27 games, which is good for eighth place. Their offense is better than their actual ranking.

However, 10 of their 42 goals were scored by Cole Palmer, who joined from Manchester City ahead of the season. Aside from Palmer, there are no Chelsea strikers in the top 10 scorers. Nicola Jackson, a new signing this season, has managed to hold his own with nine goals and three assists in 24 games, but that's not good enough for a Chelsea striker.

So with the signing of Osimhen, Chelsea are looking to fill their striker famine. Osimhen was one of the hottest strikers in Europe 스포츠토토 last season. Along with Kim Min-Jae, he was a key part of Napoli's core, leading them to their first Serie A title in 33 years. Osimhen led Serie A with 26 goals last season. He went on to finish eighth in the 2023 Ballon d'Or, cementing his place among the world's best strikers.

After the end of last season, Osimhen was rumored to be on the move. Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester United, and other big clubs wanted him, but he chose to stay with Napoli. In December, Osimhen signed a new contract with Napoli until 2026, the highest weekly wage and treatment in the club's history.

It seemed like the transfer speculation was over for Osimhen, but his re-signing only increased the interest from other teams. Napoli inserted a €130 million ($187.3 million) buyout clause in Osimhen's contract. Big clubs such as PSG, Man United, and Real, with deep pockets, were unwilling to pay the buyout, but Chelsea were determined to keep him.

Napoli are also expecting Osimhen to leave at the end of the season. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis recently made a decisive statement: "I've known since last summer that Osimhen would leave. I know perfectly well that he will go to Real, PSG, or an English club," he said.

Osimhen wants to join Chelsea more than any other club. The Blues have been rebuilding under Mauricio Pochettino since the arrival of owner Todd Boeli and have brought in young talent such as Palmer, Connor Gallagher, Palmer, Jackson, Enzo Fernandez, and Mikhail Mudric. If Osimhen joins Chelsea, he'll be able to make an impact up front himself.
